What Will You Believe?

Will we believe the truth of God's word or the lies in our head?

Will we believe that we are God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved (Col. 3:12)?
or
Will we believe that we are scumsucking awful?

Will we believe that we are given the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:57)?
or
Will we believe that we are failures, good for nothing?

Will we believe we are created by the divine hands of God?
or

Will we believe that we are ugly toads?

"Did you not..." ...clothe me with skin and flesh
and knit me together with bones and sinews?
12 You gave me life and showed me kindness,
and in your providence watched over my spirit," (Job 10: 10-12).

Will we believe that we are never abandoned by God?
or
Will we believe that we are rejected by all?

Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you," (Heb. 13:5)

If you find it impossible to switch from a Rut-based mentality, to a Truth-based mentality, look at who Christ was and what He endured.

Who He was:
The Son of God.
The Word made flesh.

What He experienced:
Rejected and crucified by His own.
Not attractive so that no one would desire him.
Disbelieved and ridiculed.
Love and betrayal by those closest.
Temptation.
Peace and joy in spite of what was before Him.
Sorrow and comfort.
Miracles no man could do.
Died for all mankind.

What He knew:
Who His Father was.
What the Word said.
The true intent of people's hearts.
Heaven, paradise, hell, the past, present and future.

If a person had the ridicule of the majority of the people against them, it would seem easy to buckle at the knees.  However, Christ was able to stand strong because He knew who He was in His Father's eyes and believed God's truth.

So....

What will we believe?
What will you believe?

One leads to our destruction, worthlessness and hopelessness.  The other prolongs our days, our joy and our hope.
