Day 4 Making Traction

Blogging away and plugging away is today's theme.  I've had some really good meetings the past couple of days and am very excited about that.  I'm thrilled to say that now I have two people on my team, excited to help my film gain traction and move forward.  Together, we will join forces and try to get the word out there of what we are doing.  Film is an incredible medium on which we can ignite a ministry to help those who are suffering and in crisis.
Praise God!

Day 3 of Blogging

Hello Fellow Friends....
Today I was hard at work tending to my new website and trying to post reels and videos.  Not to hard, but takes tons of time.  Past days I've successfully figured out a business email, gotten a business email platform sort of set up but still haven't weaned off gmail--sigh--b/c I really don't like the new platform.  Any thoughts on something I could use?  Trying out Apple Mail and it's not so happy.
Tomorrow my Godfadda is going to help me design some things and I meet with a great Texas producer who has generously given me his time to help me put together a business plan and a plan of action.
It's going to be a good day.
How was your day? I hope it was well.  Let me know!
Cheers,
Candice

There is a Day 2!

Since Day 1, I have been super excited about my blog and even have my first follower!! Yeah for Casey Wiegand!  She's my blog idol... haha... no, no idols here... but she is definitely an inspiration.

Day 2 of blogging... Well... technically, the sun has set, and I'd love to write that my creativity is just beginning... but not so much.  My fingers have typed a ton today and I just wanted to write a quick note.  That's why blogging is cool.  Just a little note here and there marks an entire journey.  Yeahh...

So, the film journey has gone well today.  I've had some good meetings and was asked to be in a filmmaker group with some awesome professionals.  I thank God for this opportunity.  It could have a lot of potential and I hope that myself will just keep truckin' along and by God's leading, make it happen.

I received a call today from a trusted friend and actress who loved my script.  In fact, she called me crying. I was so touched by her comments and relation to the script.  As a writer, it's hard for me to believe that someone else might actually like what is going on in that brain of mine.  So, when I get a call like hers, I'm truly touched and just take it as a confirmation from my good Lord saying: "Hang on to me and keep going." I suppose that is what Joshua 1:9 is all about.  "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

I think I could probably write an entire piece by breaking down this verse... it would go something like this... [mind my comments]  "Have I not commanded you? [Oh yes... this is a command...] Be strong and courageous. [Not so much] Do not be afraid [How did I get an OD of this?] ; do not be discouraged [uh, too late], for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. [ahhh... *sigh*... I needed to hear that]"  Maybe enough is said.  Yes... it is.  You get the point.

So with that... I give you...

Day 2 folks!

Goodnight!

In the race and didn't know my feet ran!

Odd title? Well, that's how I feel.  Today is Day 1 of blogging.  I have resisted blogs, twitter and much of social media (besides FB) and didn't realize all that I was missing.  Sorry techno world!  What changed my mind? Casey Wiegand! (http://www.thewiegands.blogspot.com/) Her blog is so incredibly cool that I had to start one of my own and figure out.
That's when I realized I was in a new game and was shocked that my feet could actually run... that I a non-websitista could put together a blog.  It actually looks half-decent too...
So, what's the point in my blogging? I'm a filmmaker and am desperately trying to build a film business from the ground up.  It's taken me 7 years--yes, count them... 1-2-3-4-5-6-
7
years to write a screenplay and revise it over and over and over again.... I'm trying to raise money for it too.  I'm trying to help films that include elements of faith heighten their production value, acting quality and put something out there that is something many can relate to.  I want to do it right, so I'm in it for the long haul.
While I'm at it... I figure I'd document my journey and hope that you enjoy walking alongside of me.
May God inspire you today as He has with me through Casey's artwork and design! (Also, check out www.chriswiegand.com.  Her husband, Chris, is a fantastic filmmaker!!)
